1. "born again"

John 3:3, 5  "Verily, verily, I say unto you that except a man be born again he shall not see the kingdom of God."

  1. Assurance of salvation

  1. Difference between secure and assure

If I am allowed to keep my jewelry in Fort Knox my jewelry would be very secure.  However, I might still worry about it

and not have the assurance that it is safe, even though it is perfectly safe.  Many people are like this with salvation.  They do not have assurance that they are saved even though Scripture says they are very secure in Christ.

  1. Salvation is a Written Contract.  If I go to buy a car, I will sign a written contract before buying it.  Why is that?  It is to protect both the seller and the buyer.  A written contract records in black and white what you agree to verbally.  God has given us a written contract¾the Bible¾in which He promises us salvation if we trust Him as our Savior.  This written contract is just as good as having God in person promising us salvation.  Consider the following verses about assurance from "God's Contract."

  2. Verses

  1. John 10:28  "and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man                               out of my hand."

  2. Rom. 8:38-39  "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, not things to come nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to ________________ us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
